Nicole Symons

Leading Physiotherapist

Doctor of Physiotherapy, Graduate Certificate of Exercise for Women’s Health

Nicole loves helping women achieve their physical goals and feeling like their best self.

As our Leading Physiotherapist, Nicole has an exceptional skillset to help assess and guide clients back to doing what they love. With a particular interest in Pilates and Women’s Health, Nicole is passionate about helping women during pregnancy and postpartum, to overcome pain and incontinence, and to help guide women back to exercise safely. 

As a basketballer, a black belt in Karate, and having run a marathon, Nicole also has a particular interest in helping women at all stages of life stay active. After looking after professional Women’s Basketball, Football and Volleyball teams, Nicole understands the demands that sport places on an athlete’s body. She runs both 1:1 and group Clinical Pilates to optimise performance, regain mobility and re-activate core muscle strength and control.

Using a combination of hands-on techniques such as massage and joint mobilisation, an expert understanding of the body and how it responds to pain, as well as a broad kitbag of rehab exercises, Nicole has the skillset to help her clients overcome any obstacle they may be facing in life. Whether it be returning to sport, postpartum recovery or pottering around the garden. On top of this, Nicole’s manner, and empathetic nature makes her a great listener, which helps her to understand the challenges you’re facing. 

Outside of work Nicole loves catching up with her friends for a run or a hike, trying new restaurants or coffee spots, or watching her beloved Western Bulldogs!

Dr Sarah Fogarty

Massage Therapist

Diploma of Remedial Massage, Masters in Acupuncture & a Pregnancy Massage Australia Practitioner

Sarah employs massage therapy to support women during and following pregnancy.

Sarah is a highly qualified and skilled pregnancy massage therapist, acupuncturist, and researcher with over 20 years of experience. Sarah offers a safe and supportive environment for remedial massage treatment during and after pregnancy.

Specialising in remedial massage treatment for pregnancy-related aches and pains such as pelvic girdle pain, pregnancy-related low back pain and rib pain, Sarah also understands the importance of supporting mental health during pregnancy (anxiety, stress and depression), and supporting women who have experienced bereavement following miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss.

Sarah takes a patient-centered, evidence-based approach and believes in working with other therapists and medical professionals to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. She has published many papers in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as the experience of eating disorders and pregnancy, the ethics of fertility massage, the safety of massage during pregnancy, the use of acupuncture in eating disorders and has conducted a systematic review on complementary therapies in eating disorders. She is currently undertaking research on pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy.

Anmei Vuong

Senior Physiotherapist

Anmei is a highly skilled physiotherapist with a passion for women’s health. She holds a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Science degree from Monash University. Anmei has also completed Clinical Pilates and Yoga training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), which reflects her dedication to providing holistic care.

Her areas of interest include antenatal care and exercise, postpartum rehabilitation, bladder and bowel issues, and mastitis. She specializes in teaching clinical Pilates, applying her expertise to help clients regain mobility, strength, and control in a safe and effective manner.

Anmei’s treating philosophy is centered on facilitating freedom of movement and ease in daily activities, whether it’s playing with children or engaging in exercise. Outside of work, she’s a devoted mother of two and enjoys activities like yoga, gardening, hiking, and reading, which align with her commitment to a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

With her qualifications, expertise, and personal interests, Anmei is a valuable addition to our women’s health physiotherapy practice, dedicated to helping clients achieve their physical goals and enjoy a fulfilling life.

Roxy Rahmani

Physiotherapist

Roxy brings extensive experience in musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy, coupled with an approachable communication style that fosters strong patient connections. She is committed to optimising treatment outcomes through collaborative interventions such as education, therapeutic hands-on therapy, dry needling, taping, and personalised exercise rehabilitation programs, including Clinical Pilates. This multifaceted approach ensures her patients receive comprehensive and individualised care.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Roxy enjoys practising yoga, running, and weight training in her leisure time, finding balance and joy in these activities. She also cherishes quality time with her fur baby, Marlo, who adds a special touch of happiness to her life.

Practice Manager

Meet Courtney, our exceptional Practice Manager and Director at Uplift Women’s Health Collective. With 8 years of invaluable experience in healthcare administration, she seamlessly ensures the smooth functioning of our physiotherapy and remedial massage services.

Courtney’s diverse background extends beyond healthcare, having previously excelled in the wedding industry as an event manager. Her outstanding communication and empathetic nature make her a pillar of support for our patients, ensuring they feel heard and cared for.

Courtney’s personal journey through women’s health challenges fuels her determination to provide compassionate care and brings a positive energy to the Uplift team.

Outside of work, Courtney loves hitting the gym to stay active and enjoys weekend getaways, especially road trips to scenic destinations like Phillip Island with her husband, Matt. Her passion for health and wellness extends beyond the workplace, making her a perfect fit for our Women’s Health team.
